Orel Hershiser Makes Quarters of Poker Tournament With Big Time Pros

Orel Hershiser is a well respected ex major league pitcher. He experienced tremendous success as the ace of the Los Angeles Dodgers for many years.

Now, he is making a name for himself in the world of poker. Hershiser was an entrant in the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship in Las Vegas.

He was nicknamed “The Bulldog” while playing in his major league career. He now may take that name with him into the poker world.

Hershiser has joined seven others in the quarter finals of the tournament being held at Caesar’s in Las Vegas. On his way, he has knocked out some big players in the professional poker universe. Allen Cunningham, Freddy Deeb, and Ted Forrest have all been taken out of the tournament by Hershiser so far.

The road will not get easier. To win the title, Hershiser will have to continue beating some of the best in the world. Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Huck Seed, Jonathon Little, David Benyamine, and Andy Bloch, who will be his next opponent.
